Back to Sport - CIMP

Player Centered | Trained Coaches | Positive Environment | Community Focused

Dear Members,

We’re looking forward to the opportunity of returning to sport. Our goal is to support health and safety, as we provide soccer to our community. Our primary driver for returning to sport at this time is to:

  1. Provide physical, mental, and emotional health by keeping players active, having fun, and interacting safely.
  2. Prepare players and teams for upcoming tryouts.

Those interested in summer options: Yourplayer's coach should be in contact with you to update you on their plans. We will be sending infoabout mini sessions, at the end of next week. Thank you for providing such valuable feedback through the survey.

Following Safety and Health Protocols is Very Important
Our community and goals extend beyond just playing soccer, and we take health and safety protocol during the time of an infectious disease very seriously. As a community, we share the responsibility of creating a safe environment for our players. We’ve worked to incorporate facts from the state of Utah, Utah Youth Soccer Association, Weber-Morgan County Health, and input from our local community health partners to provide the best plan at this time.

Go-Forward benchmarks include delegating required positions within our organization and individual teams, as well as providing PPE and disinfectant. Ogden Soccer has detailed further protocol, and these are the top-level requirements that must be met:

  1. Community Infection Prevention Officer (CIPO): Bret Weston, who also serves as our community Risk Management Director, has been nominated as our CIPO. He will be overseeing protocols as we move forward.
  2. Team Infection Prevention Officer (TIPO): Every team wanting to return to the pitch at this time under the ORANGE or YELLOW status is required to fill this position. Every head coach, assistant coach, team manager, and the TIPO will all need to work together to ensure preventative measures are enacted and maintained.
  3. Read and Sign Document: All team coaches, assistant coaches, and designated TIPOs must read and sign the CIMP document providing detailed restrictions, guidelines, and protocol.
  4. Zoom Call: All team leaders mentioned above will need to participate in a digital meeting prior to returning to the sport with players so that we are all on the same page. Our first team call will be on Friday, May 22, 2020 at 7 PM. All teams that are anticipating participating at this time will need to identify a TIPO prior to the call and reserve your time on the call. To request the calling code you will need to send an email to [email protected] with names, email, the cell phone of Coach, Team Manager or Assistant Coach, and TIPO.

We all must work together with our CIPO to oversee and coordinate prevention. To help alleviate the guesswork of the new normal, on May 13, 2020, the board of directors approved the implementation of the newly adopted Community Infection and Mitigation Plan (CIMP). The CIMP is a living document that will be updated as needed, and the membership will be updated immediately upon approval of any changes. This will help us navigate different social interaction stages together as a community.

The CIMP has incorporated the ORANGE - YELLOW - GREEN status guidelines outlining expectations and criteria to return to sport.

We will be sending out additional communication specific to different leagues, tryouts, and more.

Thank you for your commitment to Ogden Soccer and our community.
