How to become a Coach or Team Manager

To get started,  create a member account by clicking Register or Login on the upper right of this page. Once you create a free member account with Ogden Soccer you will want to register as a volunteer for the position that you are interested, such as Coach. Make sure you select the position for your players age division. You may also register to volunteer while registering your player for their division. After you have set up your Volunteer Account the system will let you know what steps are needed next on your Volunteer Panel. Everything needs to turn green.  There are the two training certifications that are required for all team admins and coaches.  These certifications are mandated by the US Congress and the State of Utah to protect our children.  Taking these online course can be easier when selected from your Volunteer Control Panel. Select one training at a time from your Volunteer Panel and upon completion the systems should sync so you don't have to upload forms. Sometimes the sync doesn't work so make sure to download your certificates upon completion. Upon completion of these courses, upload your certificates to complete registration as a coach at Ogden Soccer.

1.  Register as a Coach - This is the first and easiest step to becoming a member coach or volunteer with Ogden Soccer.  Registration as a coach or volunteer is synced through Utah Youth Soccer (UYSA) to insure data security. Registration will take about 5-10 minutes.  To complete the process, you'll need to upload a clear photo of your face (no hats or sunglasses) as well as your certificates for completing the Heads Up and SafeSport courses. Some of this process is now automated but make sure to download your certificates for later use incase the system doesn't auto sync.

2. CDC Heads Up Concussion - Return to the Volunteer Tab in your account at OgdenSoccer.com. This free online course teaches coaches how to recognize and react to potential concussions as well as how to manage athletes'.  It will take 20-30 minutes to complete.  Don't forget to save a copy of your certificate to upload when you register as a coach.

This online course is paid for by US Soccer so there is no cost to Ogden Soccer's members. Begin by creating an account and listing a membership with US Soccer.  Take The SAFESPORT Trained- US Soccer Curriculum. It's broken into 3 modules and lasts approximately 90 minutes (total). You can stop as needed and it will save your progress.  You'll receive a certificate for each module and a 4th one for completing the entire course.  Be sure to save a copy of course completion certificate to upload when you register as a coach.
