2020 Try-out dates for PL, SCL, IRL, X-League, Academy

Competitive Soccer Players – Part of the Back to Sport plan will have an emphasis on those teams that may need to prepare for tryouts or begin to build rosters. As of May 9, 2020 all players are open for invite to your team training session and tryouts.

Having achieved Low Risk (Yellow) status and approval for our return-to-play action plan (CIMP), Ogden Soccer is offering all current competitive players placement on our teams. In addition, following UYSA directives, we will be holding age division training with open invitation to any player within birth years of team availability. Individual team tryouts will be held to limit crowd size. All current comp players should have received an email asking them to declare their interest. All players wanting to join an Ogden Soccer team can reserve a limited time slot for any of our division training (limited to 16 players per session).

Please email Zane if you want to form or are thinking of forming a new 2020-21 competitive team.   [email protected]

How are we going to give players opportunity to find a team?

All training must comply with Ogden Soccer CIMP (Yellow Status until further notice).

Ogden Soccer “Comp” teams
compete regionally in the Utah Youth Soccer Association (UYSA) gaming framework.
http://www.utahyouthsoccer.net/

Though more competitive, the focus of Ogden Soccer throughout our program is on developing a player who learns through experience and not through constant sideline direction.

We challenge our players but not to the point where soccer is no longer fun.

We train the same way we play, utilizing the latest science of sport to encourage critical thinking, taking chances, having fun and building an understanding and appreciation of soccer principles and rules.  Our club is based on a carefully developed system-of-play described in more detail below.

If you have a team you want playing comp with Ogden Soccer, contact: Zane Froerer [email protected]. We have a team prepared to support our coaches and team managers so you can focus on the players.

Teams and Programs:

4v4 Soccer - 7-8 years of age (Academy-District league) $309 - includes all league fees, gaming fees, referee fees, and full uniform kit.
Academy Soccer is the introduction to regional soccer.  Many teams are just beginning but this is the first chance for scheduled regional play versus playing recreation against other Ogden Soccer teams.

7v7 Soccer - 8-10 years of age (Competitive state league) $349 - includes all league fees, gaming fees, referee fees, and full uniform kit.
Developing individual skills and stamina through fun but challenging practice, understanding the basics of possession soccer and soccer transitions

9v9 Soccer - 10-12 years of age (Competitive state league) $349 - includes all league fees, gaming fees, referee fees, and full uniform kit.
Continue to build on skills to control and possess the ball and start to recognize opportunities to exploit out of position defenders.  An extra two players on the pitch greatly changes the complexity of the game and teamwork/communication required.

11V11 Soccer - 13-18 years of age (Competitive state league) $349 - includes all league fees, gaming fees, referee fees, and full uniform kit.
Full-sided games add complexity that can be learned for life.  The speed of play increases dramatically with age. Skills are still developed through challenging practices and critical thinking based on soccer attacking, defending, and transitional situations.  Stamina is developed through active practices and scrimmages with some calisthenics and run training.

CONCUSSION CERTIFICATION

It is your responsibility to annually complete the CDC Concussion Certification. You need to verify that your concussion certification is current and uploaded. A current certificate is considered one that is dated within the Seasonal playing year. For example: You received your certificate in January of 2018 - it is valid until the end of the 2018-2019 seasonal year which is June 1. If you are red-lined on the roster for an expired or missing certification the game may be ruled as a forfeit if there is not another properly licensed coach at the game and for the duration of the game.
